Hello! I'm "CPU" (Cool-PC-User) and i'm here to show you some PC tips and tricks that i know. This blog is mostly about PC hardware, but i'm not afraid of talking about software too! I'm from Poland (in Europe), so my english may not be perfect, but i'm trying my best. Hope you enjoy!

Building an Office Workstation from "Frankenstein's Monster"
While testing all those parts from "Frankenstein's Monster" PC i've decided, that it all runs so good in basic use, that it's a good idea to transform this into fully functioning workstation.
Soon i'm going to need additional workplace to do some copywrite jobs. Sometimes i'm gonna do it by myself and sometimes it's gonna be done by someone else. It's very convenient to have another workplace to do it and to store everything connected with that on this workstation (i am aware of clouds and files sharing, but there are some types of files you don't want to go "full cloud", yet you want to have ability of beeing usable by two or more people).
I already have Dell MoBo, good CPU, decent amount of RAM and storage. All i need now is casing to fit everything inside. I've decided to buy refurbished Dell Optiplex 780 case and mount eveything like in standard Dell PC. Of course there are going to be some changes, but it's worth it from my point of view.
First things first. I've done some research and found 780 SFF case in decent shape for just only 15,55 PLN (4,20 $). It has only missing DVD Drive plug, but i want to install DVD Drive, so it's not a problem.
Next step was to find proper Power Supply, because standard ATX PSU can't fit inside SFF Case. After a while of calculating i've figured out that i need PSU between 230 and 270 Watts, so i chose the 275 W Dell SFF PSU. Price tag was 69,99 PLN (18,80 $).
Another thing that bothers me is GPU. Technically i could let this PC work on standard, integrated GPU (which is Intel GMA 4500), but i've decided to put another GPU inside. Intel GMA 4500 is not vary powerfull and can be problematic when using more demanding programs. My pick was the AMD Radeon HD3470 with 256 MB GDDR3 and 64bit Memory Bus. It's one of the best Low Profile GPU Card i can install to the PSU i chose. This GPU was fairly priced with 9,99 PLN (2,70 $).
Last thing i need is this missing Optical Drive - in my case it's gonna be standard DVD-ROM Drive, which i found for only 12,00 PLN (3,20 $).
All the parts together created a cost of 107,50 PLN (28,80 $). Adding a cost of shipping it's gonna be 157,10 PLN (42,10 $). When i add a cost of MoBo, CPU, RAM and HDD its gonna be a total amount of 229,10 PLN (61,40 $). This is a very low price for a nice, good working PC which gonna be perfect for office work (and low-end gaming, gonna try some games on it for sure).
As soon as all parts arrive i'm going to mount everything and of course to write about it here, so stay tuned!
