Dell SFF Motherboard - Possible Problems

Since i've got to wait at least one more day for GPU and PSU i've decided to write a little about the ordered Dell Motherboard. As i thought before there are going to be some problems...

When i was ordering my Dell OptiPlex 760 Motherboard i already knew, that there are going to be some problems. OptiPlex 760 is a SFF (Small Form Factor) PC, which means that there are specific types of components i can use. By far i've made one major mistake which is PSU...

I assumed (by looking onto photos on auction) that this MoBo is powered by standard 24 PIN ATX power connector, but what it turned out it is a Micro ATX Power Connector (or as Dell calls it - MicroPWR).

Basically this is exactly the same power scheme, but it just has it's own connection causing owners to use SFF PSU's. In my case the solution is easy - i'm going to use a special adapter which allow me to connect standard PSU to this Motherboard. It had it's own price of course, wchich might be called cheating, but the price of adaptor was lower than 2 $, so i'm going to add this to final amount (in last report under post with testing of this set).

Another problem is connected to CPU Cooler. I've ordered the AMD type of Cooler, but the one i got is so big, that there is no way to put it on CPU.

My idea on that is to cut out the 2x2x2 cm triangles of every corner. This way the Cooler would fit perfectly on CPU an the mounting process will be very possible to do.

There are no other problems that i've reported with the equipement so far and i hope it's gonna stay that way... Wish me luck and stay tuned to see this Frankenstein's Monster running! Maybe i will even name this set like that? Would be fun!
