Hello! I'm "CPU" (Cool-PC-User) and i'm here to show you some PC tips and tricks that i know. This blog is mostly about PC hardware, but i'm not afraid of talking about software too! I'm from Poland (in Europe), so my english may not be perfect, but i'm trying my best. Hope you enjoy!

Project > THE RIG < Part Two
In previous > THE RIG < post i wrote about my idea and gave you a scheme to understand what i was thinking about. Time for a step forward - cardboard prototype!
This time i needed to measure everything and cut it out from cardboard. By making a main frame i understood, that first idea about parts placing is obviously bad. First of all - MoBo outputs and PSU connectors has to be on the same side (for convenience). Second - the PSU has to be mounted vertically so the main frame would get it's height from. Last of all - the drives (5,25'' and 3,5'') gonna be above MoBo mounted parallell to the MoBo, next to each other.
My first cardboard prototype of a frame can be seen on pictures below (motherboard and PSU inside to see the size of build):
Frame is build the way i can put inside full ATX MoBo, the seen on picture is my DTX (208 x 244 mm) sized MSI from WinXP Set. There is a slight probability of changing width, because of new PSU position (i'd like to shorten it a bit).
In then next part i'm gonna make a full cardboard rig to see how the disks would fit inside. Stay tuned!
