Parts for Dell Workstation - Delivery Day One

As you may read in my previous posts i'm thinking of building Dell Workstation (Optiplex 780) and i ordered some parts for it. Some of it arrived today.

First package to came was the ATI (Yes, ATI! I missed this brand so much!) Radeon HD3470 Low Profile 256MB 64 Bit. It's just a OEM card without any boxes, brochures or drivers. This is what i got:

Card is in very good overall shape and has no missing parts. Active cooler definitely makes it look better. This card has got not only DVI output, but also DisplayPort.

Of course it wouldn't be me if i didn't take the card apart, so i unscrewed everything and under cooler i found very old thermal tape, which was in very bad shape. I immediately cleaned everything up and put new thermal paste on the core. After screwing everything back card looks more shiny than in the beginning.

Second package contained my TEAC CD / DVD Combo Drive. It's a standard combo drive without recorder. It connects to MoBo and PSU with SATA interface. Luckily the seller sent it to me with this mounting rail - i don't know if ordered case has one inside. Here's how it looks like.

Of course it needed a little cleaning, but after fast test i can tell it works perfect. Still haven't tested Radeon HD 3470, but i'm leaving it for the moment of building.

Tomorrow i should recieve two oher packages - with Case and PSU. Cant wait to build it already!
