Swapping CPU in Samsung R519 - Can it work?

Some time ago i checked my older Samsung R519 Laptop with PCMark05 and i got only 3842 points. My first idea was to switch to SSD, because i felt that old drive was skipping a lot and i had freezes on screen. After swapping HDD to SSD i got whoping 6067 points! But i did not stop there - i've decided i want to change CPU!

First of all i've checked, that the CPU i had currently in my setup was the Intel Pentium T4300 @ 2 x 2.1 GHz. As the Intel's page says it is a PGA478 socket CPU, so i've checked what types of processors are supported by this socket.

My pick was the Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 @ 2 x 2.16 GHz. I tried to find this CPU on aour local market, but he was nowhere to find so i turned to ebay.com an found it... in China... But it was the only option so i've placed order (total cost of 12,55 $) and was waiting for the delivery. After 4 weeks i got my package and it was time to put that beast inside!

The process of opening Samsung R519 is not so hard. Samsung really did think about everything. First you take out battery, then HDD and RAM. Also only one screw is holding DVD-ROM. Next you have 2 screws to disconnect keyboard. Then you unscrew a couple of screws an you can open the lid showing MoBo.

After getting that top lid off i had to unscrew 5 more screws and disconnect some cables to get the MoBo out. The moment it's out you can turn it around and unscrew cooler fan and CPU / GPU cooler itself. It's time for a switch! I'm replacing T4300 for T7400 and closing all back to the working condition.

After mounting everything back up i put battery on, powered the machine aaaaaand... bummer. Laptop is not starting - i have power led on and black screen...

After some reading i found out, that CPU FSB in new CPU is 677 MHz, and the old one was the 800 MHz, which can cause all the trouble. Did i stop there? Of course not - i've ordered another CPU - the Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 @ 2 x 2.2 GHz and FSB 800 MHz (another 10 $, this time from Poland). After the package has arrived i did all the replacing work again and... it's not working. Sympthoms are the same - power led is lit up, but the screen is off.

I did some more reading and after tons of literature i found out, that my Motherboard has special type of PGA478, which is mPGA-479m which is not supporting a lot of CPU's. Basically the one i have currently mounted (T4300 @ 2 x 2.1GHz) is one of the best i can have...

At this point i gave up and decided to keep my stock CPU, it's running really good with SSD. So... Anyone want's to buy T7400 or T7500? :)
